The GivePro Consulting Group is comprised of professionals who want to use their skills for good as well as for profit. We usually take on capacity-building projects, mostly short-term, to provide a boost to a start-up, a refreshed approach for an existing program, or improvements to already successful activities. All consultants have a proven track record in their field and agree with our GivePro values. What we value at GivePro are these qualities:
- Contribution We believe everyone should have the opportunity to get personally involved
- Quality We believe the poor deserve our best and that giving should be excellent
- Respect We value everyone’s contribution equally, ensuring the dignity of all
- Generosity We believe giving should be “open-handed” – beyond fair or equitable with no strings attached
- Cooperation We believe participating in addressing poverty is something we do better together
Gary Zander, Founder & President
Gary Zander has served in local and international mission and development work since 1987. With a background in social entrepreneurship, a Masters degree in cross-cultural studies, and two decades of international non-profit work he focuses on strategic change, communications, technology and management for businesses and charities to get involved in ending poverty.
After serving in the inner city of Edmonton, Gary joined FH Canada in 2000 to begin addressing international poverty as the Education and Training Director. In 2005 he became the Executive Director for Mission to Unreached Peoples Canada before being asked to join the international office of Food for the Hungry in 2007. At FH, Gary provided leadership to the areas of communications and strategy development across 26 countries on five continents. By the end of 2012 Gary had been serving in local and international missions for 25 years. Much had changed in charitable work during that time. He decided to refocus his personal mission on two areas that will prove to have the greatest impact on the poor: business as mission and direct global partnerships. In February 2013, Gary founded the GivePro Consulting Group to connect the full array of giving (funding, goods & services, expertise and time) with opportunities to serve the poor directly either in partnership with agencies or as social enterprises. Since 2017, he integrated his work to also serve as CFO and COO of Vestment Global Services where he builds trusting relationships to link investments with high impact charitable activities.
